Virginia State University (VSU) is committed to fostering academic excellence and professional growth through its graduate degree programs. The policies and procedures outlined in this section provide a framework for prospective and current graduate students as they pursue advanced degrees across various disciplines.

All prospective graduate students apply for admission either:

(1) to a program leading to a degree

or

(2) to a non-degree program for certification, in-service training, or for professional or personal improvement. 

Each student applying for admission should specify on the application the program to which he/she is applying and make sure that he/she is meeting the specific program criteria as determined by the respective program.

All applications should be completed and submitted online. All supporting credentials, scores, and references should be mailed or sent electronically from the original source to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Final admission determination will be made by the program to which the student has applied.
